After leaving Salt Lake City area this is the closest National Park, so our first one to visit in Utah.....The Island in the Sky area was right on our drive to Moab......
According to the ranger one of the least visited park in Utah .... Many miles only accessible by 4 wheel drive or off road vehicles ....
Near the beginning of our hike.... Did NOT look as perky at the end. The altitude and the heat got us both...but we'll be ready for more tomorrow ...

This one was taken from Dead Horse Point State Park looking back into Canyonlands. We were appreciative of suggestions by others that we stop at this State Park on our way to our hotel. From this vantage point you can see the big bend in the Colorado River that created the canyons.
